Description: Trader Joe's and the FDA issued a recall for Infinite Herbs brand organic basil sold at Trader Joe's stores in 29 states due to salmonella risk. The 2.5 oz packaged basil has a shelf life past and should no longer be available for purchase. Consumers who bought the product should not eat or use it and throw it away. Salmonella symptoms include diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps. It usually occurs 1-3 days after eating contaminated food. Twelve illnesses were reported across 7 states linked to the outbreak, with one hospitalization.
